Stephanie Huffman

Dr. Huffman serves as the Associate Vice President for Strategic Initiatives (AVP) and Dean of the College of Graduate, Research & Online Education at the University of Northern Iowa (UNI). She provides oversight for GROE, the College of Graduate, Research & Online Education, comprising three units: the Division of Graduate Studies (GS), the Office of Research & Sponsored Programs (RSP), and the Division of Online Education and Individualized Studies (ODE). As AVP and Dean, Dr. Huffman works with stakeholders to establish a vision, mission, and strategic initiatives for the GS, ODE, and RSP.

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs primary goal is to support faculty, programs, and other units seeking external support for mission-related scholarship and outreach. As AVP, Dr. Huffman is responsible for elevating the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs and supporting faculty in seeking external support for mission related scholarship and outreach initiatives. Dr. Huffman provides oversight for the establishment of Centers and Institutes and the Institutional Review Board. Additionally, she provides leadership in promoting academic ethics and in facilitating scholarship. Dr. Huffman is also a tenured Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction in the College of Education.
