Stephanie Huffman

Dr. Huffman serves as the Associate Vice President for Strategic Initiatives (AVP) and Dean of the Graduate College at the University of Northern Iowa (UNI). She provides oversight for three units on the UNI campus; the Graduate College, Online and Distance Education Division, and the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs. As AVP and Dean, Dr. Huffman works with stakeholders to establish a vision, mission and strategic initiatives for the Graduate College, the Division of Online and Distance Education and Research and Sponsored Programs.

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs primary goal is to support faculty, programs, and other units seeking external support for mission-related scholarship and outreach. As AVP, Dr. Huffman is responsible for elevating the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs and supporting faculty in seeking external support for mission related scholarship and outreach initiatives. Dr. Huffman provides oversight for the establishment of Centers and Institutes and the Institutional Review Board. Additionally, she provides leadership in promoting academic ethics and in facilitating scholarship. Dr. Huffman is also a tenured Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction in the College of Education.
